Congratulations to Calthorpe Park School in Hampshire, for being the UK's Water Explorer Team of the Month for March!
The Calthorpe Park Water Explorers have returned to Water Explorer for a second year, and this time round they’ve focused on Precious Water. In March they completed the Precious Water Mission, and held their very own Water Festival.
We were particularly impressed with their ‘Make Your Own Challenge’ this month. For this, the team decided to design a Water Quiz which they then delivered in tutor time to every form in the school – that’s 1150 students in total! Ever conscious of their water-saving mission, the team of Water Explorers marked the quizzes and returned the sheets with the correct answers to educate each form about water saving issues and methods, and selected a winning form to receive a prize!
Continuing to share their water saving knowledge, the Calthorpe Park Water Explorers held a Water Festival for all 250 Year 7 students to attend. For the Festival, the Explorers came up with 10 different activities which they set up around their school drama studio to get their peers thinking about water. From writing water-saving pledges and decorating labels for reusable water bottles, to tackling water-themed obstacle courses and even a fishing game, there was something for everyone!
Congratulations Calthorpe Eco Club and thanks for all your great water saving work!
