We love gardening at school. We had a huge tomato plant that got a bit out of control so we loved chopping it back and then mixing up the soil again. Now we've planted a few herbs as well as lettuce and carrots. We think they will come up in a few weeks but we won't pick them for a few months to let them grow big. We hope to share them with our classmates.
We learned that growing our own food is good for many reasons: we know its safe from chemicals, we save money, we don't need packaging from the store, and it is fresh and doesn't need to travel at all. We're all inspired to start growing at home now too.
