We invited an environmental expert in to the school to talk to the class about helping our school garden. He was really helpful and showed us how important worms are to the garden and how they help to create good soil for the food to grow in. He taught us about the different types of worms and how to identify them. Pat even showed us them under a microscope. We explained to him why we are learning about the garden and he helped us to understand about the importance of water in growing food. He also told us that without water, there would be no compost to grow food.
