As we were learning about secret water and the hidden water in lots of items we were suprised by how much water is in everyday items. For instance there is 10litres of water in a single sheet of A4 paper. We conducted a water audit of our school of all the secret water areas. We put up signs in computer rooms and staff room to encourage people to print double sided and to reuse scrap paper where possible. We are continuing with our recycling intiative to encourage people to save water,energy and natural resources. We encouraged people to drink teas instead of coffee as it has much less secret water.
We loacted any dripping taps and got them fixed and we also put up posters to encourage water conservation in the school. We got people to take pledges on how to save water. We made the pledges into the shape of water drops to highlight the message and created an eyecatching display. Check out our pledge display.
