A group of children from the "public speaking extra mural" were divided into teams of 4 and were given one side of the topic of "use of chemicals in farming" to research and debate. The children did not put up a poster on a display board , but after taking part in a formal debate during "public speaking" class, they presented the facts in assembly to the whole school. The summary "poster" was uploaded onto our eco-blog. The children enjoyed the research, the debate and the final presentation. This topic allowed a very balanced debate with good points raised on both sides.
