The Enviro-Champs have always had a great influence in their community, assisting people to always to do the right thing when it comes to looking after their environment by first, cleaning up after themselves. In May, 5 committed Enviro-Champs, with permission from the Umgungundlovu District Municipality used their small budget to buy plumbing tools and materials from the local hardware shop. Wasting no time at all, the Enviro-Champs rolled up their sleeves and began repair, clamp, wire, and replace the leaky pipes in 12 houses, 6 toilets at one school and 3 leaky taps at another school. They reported that many of these leaky taps had been running full blast over a time period from 1 to 4 years. Teaching others how to do simple repair jobs have boasted people's confidence and skill to take ownership and responsibility for their plumbing problem. Nhlonipho, the head plumber plans to do a workshop at the upcoming Water Festival to fix to teach people simple plumbing. Big hand together for these inspiring individuals.
