Everyone trying to get a glimpse of the shy puff adder !

On our visit to the Nxamalala wetland we were also delighted to find lots of biodiversity. This is another very good reason to protect them as there are many special plants and animals that are adapted to live in wetlands.

Besides the ducks and geese, we saw a number of wild birds. Lots of dragon flies, water spiders and even a PUFF ADDER. It was great to see that everyone was curious rather than scared of the puffy... we know and understand the importance of snakes in  an ecosystem. We also identified some typical wetland plants , like Ncema, Arum lilys and Red Hot pokers!
