Our Biodiversity Pond
Posted by Summerhill Prep School, South Africa on 14 December 2018

We have always wanted a “Biodiversity Pond” at our school to attract frogs, insects and various other fantastic creatures to our school. We love being out in the environment and brining nature back to our school. That is why we decided to build a pond. We dug a BIG hole and built around it with bricks to keep it in place. We lined out our pond with plastic and sand, and then we planted flowers all around the edge. As a finishing touch we even built a recycled plastic bottle chair to stand on the edge of our pond so that we can sit there and watch the frogs and creatures. Many different classes all helped to build our pond. We hope the animals will come back soon to the new home we built for them.
